Travelling exhibition : San José in black and white

It was mounted to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the declaration of San José as a city in 2013. The exhibition is made up of 35 black and white photographs from the collection of the Historical Archive, and is accompanied by texts about the city by six different authors: Luisa González, Alberto Cañas, Tatiana Lobo, José Fidel Tristán, Thomas Francis Meagher and Manuel González Zeledón Magón.


The exhibition allows the public to take a journey back in time through San José from the second half of the 19th century to the first half of the 20th century. The photographs show public buildings, shops, vendors and different streets of San José.
