The Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) received, on Friday, from the government of the Russian Federation, a donation of 2,000 reagent kits for the detection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, a microorganism that produces covid-19.
For Dr. Román Macaya Hayes, executive president of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund, this donation is a sign of the solidarity between countries, at a time when the entire world is looking for the same tests for these important diagnoses in the management of a pandemic.
“We thank Ambassador Yury Bedzhanyan for understanding that working together, as friendly countries, is that we are going to move forward in the face of this great country challenge and great challenge for the entire world.”
The donation was given in response to the official request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Republic of Costa Rica and the cargo was brought to Costa Rica on July 2 by the humanitarian flight of the Russian airline “Azur Air”.
The delivery was made at the CCSS Refrigerated Warehouse with the presence of Dr. Román Macaya Hayes and Mr. Yury Bedzhanyan, ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Costa Rica.
During the ceremony, Mr. Bedzhanyan highlighted the fact that the Russian Federation considers Costa Rica as the most important partner in Latin America. “Our ties are stable and reliable, they are time-tested relationships between partners and friends,” he said.
The Russian Ambassador expressed confidence that the significant event of the delivery to Costa Rica by Russia of humanitarian aid will contribute to further strengthen multifaceted relations between the peoples of the two countries.
