The Costa Rican National Symphony Orchestra (OSN) launched this twelfth record production on different digital platforms this Wednesday April 15 with free access for the public.

This is the production “A night with Serebrier and the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica”, recorded live on August 9 and 11, 2019, at the National Theater of Costa Rica, under the baton of one of the greatest conductors relevance in the contemporary classical music scene worldwide: the Uruguayan teacher José Serebrier.

This double album contains a total of 27 tracks, which includes several pieces by the master Serebrier and his contributions to works by other prominent composers such as George Gershwin, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff and his adaptation of “Symphony Carmen” by Georges Bizet. Costa Rican music is also included with the work “Suite Antígona”, by the national composer Carlos Enrique Vargas.

“I have listened to the double disc with great interest and enthusiasm. The sound is top notch, and the orchestral balances are perfect. I congratulate my colleagues in the National Symphony Orchestra for such an inspired and enthusiastic version of the works, ”said director José Serebrier about the record production.

The album was in charge of the Latin GRAMMY®-nominated Costa Rican producer Jorge Castro in his studio Doctor Music®, who had the talent and collaboration of Claudio Schifani and Jeffrey Barboza, officials from the National Theater of Costa Rica. Over a six-month period, Castro worked on editing, mixing, and mastering the production.

“Una noche con Serebrier y la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Costa Rica”, It can be heard on the main digital platforms such as Spotify, Amazon, Youtube and iTunes. In addition, it is the first classic production made in Costa Rica to be released under the Apple Digital Master certification, a protocol established by Apple with the aim that the music offered under these parameters is heard exactly as the artists and engineers in the recording studio. For this, after an evaluation, they certify the studio and its engineers, and, in this case, Castro was the first in Central America to receive this certification, which is distinguished by being accompanied by the seal on the page of Apple Music and iTunes.

“For the National Music Center it has been quite a feat the publication of this new album with the direction of José Serebrier, which we hope you can enjoy starting today. We appreciate the hard work of Jorge Castro, who has used new technologies for the greatest enjoyment of our listeners, which he did ad honorem as a way of supporting the institution, ”explained the director of the National Music Center, Gabriel Goñi Dondi.

This production is part of the projects planned for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the OSN; However, its release date was brought forward with the aim of providing one more option for music lovers who remain at home due to the current crisis. Subsequently, the release date of the album in physical format will be announced.
