The Social Protection Board, JPS, will allow increasing the use of resources that it transfers to social programs so that they can acquire cleaning materials and articles or any other good to prevent contagion among their beneficiaries. At the same time, 600 million colones will be transferred to the National Emergency Commission, CNE, to attend to the emergency caused by COVID-19.
The JPS also urges the Day Care Centers for the elderly, to use resources to meet the food needs of the elderly, who do not have support networks, during the days that the centers are closed.
For the second semester, it was agreed to make an adjustment in the percentages of resources destined to support management and projects, so that they can receive a higher percentage of resources to cover these expenses and offset the resources they use to face this emergency.
Likewise, the Social Protection Board, JPS, will take 600 million of its resources to transfer to the National Emergency Commission so that these monies contribute to the attention of the emergency that the country is experiencing as a result of COVID 19.
The Board of Directors of the institution thus responds to the national emergency declaration.
“These are some of the ways in which we are supporting the care of people in greater vulnerability and contributing to this trance that the country is going through. We understand that the sum of efforts, solidarity and respect for the national quarantine directive are the most important routes to face this attack, “said Esmeralda Britton González, President of the JPS.
