Music from Russia, Mexico and Costa Rica will mark the second season concert of the Heredia Symphony Orchestra (OSH), which will take place on March 7 at 8 p.m. in the main hall of the country: the National Theater.

On this occasion, the group will interpret the works The voice of the bird of the composer and director of the OSH, Eddie Mora (Costa Rica), Danzón N ° 4 of Arturo Márquez (Mexico) and the Classical Symphony of Sergei Prokofiev (Russia) .

“The second program of the OSH2020 Season continues with the idea of giving life to the classical works of the twentieth century, the” Classical Symphony “by Sergei Prokofiev is a beautiful and refined example of this. On the other hand, contemporary Latin American music, in its stylistic kaleidoscope is present with works by Arturo Márquez (Mexico) and Eddie Mora (Costa Rica). Seductive rhythms and colors in sounds show the diversity and musical richness of our land, seen and felt in multiple ways, ”said OSH head director Eddie Mora.

For this second concert of the 2020 Season, OSH will be under the baton of renowned Mexican director Eduardo García Barrios.

Eduardo García Barrios was born in 1960 in Mexico City. He is a graduate of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow and founder of the Orchestra of Baja California (1991), which he has directed since then. In addition, he was the principal director of the Philharmonic of the University of Lima, Peru and directed various groups in the United States, Russia and South America.

During his long career he has been guest conductor of almost all the orchestras of Mexico. In 2013 he was appointed director of the Choir, Orchestras and Ensembles System.

The Heredia Symphony will perform this same repertoire on March 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Church of Carmen, located in the center of the Heredian province. The Heredia Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1962 and since its formation it has been dedicated to the execution of Costa Rican music. In addition, its 11 record productions incorporate the Latin American and contemporary classical repertoire. Currently, OSH has the support of the Ministry of Culture and Youth and the Municipality of Heredia, entities that incorporate it into its budget, thus allowing the development of artistic projects with composers, soloists and directors of recognized international experience. The musical direction of the teacher Eddie Mora during the OSH2020 Season is given thanks to the support of Franz Liszt Schule.
