The health area La Unión will begin a disciplinary process this Thursday to clarify what happened with an apparently anomalous vaccination that was presented in a vaccination center of an ebáis assigned to that health center and establish the corresponding responsibilities.
Dr. Olga Álvarez Desanti, director of the health area, explained that the situation was immediately known, the user was approached and the appointment was scheduled to receive the vaccine this week.
Dr. Armando Villalobos Castañeda, director of the Directorate of the Integrated Network for the Provision of Central South Health Services of the CCSS, said that since Wednesday they launched various actions aimed at supporting and ensuring that the local process is carried out to fruition. .
For his part, engineer Gerardo León Solís, head of the CCSS Institutional Investigation and Security Area, said that the CCSS will present the evidence and findings to the Public Ministry in the next few hours so that this incident is investigated in all the corresponding extremes. .
“With the analysis and collection of the evidence, we are going to take this event to the judicial authorities and we will give all the follow-up internally to guarantee a forceful procedure,” added León.
The director added that they proceeded to reinforce the supervision and control measures of the vaccination teams and to take the corresponding disciplinary actions.
Similarly, Dr. Mario Ruiz Cubillo, medical manager of the CCSS, was forceful in stating that “any irregular situation or complaint that arises will be dealt with quickly and it should be known in all its extremes that it happened.”
The manager added that “tolerance is zero” in these cases and determining what happened will be a priority for authorities at all levels.
