The Film Centre announces the return of its “Preamble Online” programme, which this February will feature the presentation of the French documentary “Varda by Agnès” (2019).
During February, March and April, “Preamble Online” will share one film per month on its social networks, allowing the public to enjoy world cinema for free, from home.
To kick off the programme, February will see the screening of “Varda by Agnès” (2019), directed by the French-Belgian filmmaker and leading representative of the Nouvelle Vague, Agnès Varda (1928 – 2019).
This film is the last feature film by Agnès Varda, who passed away in March 2019. This documentary takes a look back at her own experience, after years as a director. “The film is a true masterclass in cinema; an unprecedented survey of her historic film legacy. The filmmaker of ‘The New Wave’, leads the viewer through a story that compiles what her inspirations were, her ways of working and her strong commitment to the public”, informed the Centro Cine, an institution attached to the Ministry of Culture and Youth.
To enjoy this film, the public must send the last four digits of their ID card and their full name to firstname.lastname@example.org. They will then receive an exclusive code to watch the film for free.
The Film Centre would like to thank Pacifica Grey for her collaboration in “Preamble Online”.
