Eight private laboratories authorized to carry out COVID-19 tests

The Minister of Health, Daniel Salas announced today that three new private laboratories have a guarantee to carry out the COVID-19 test. They are: Echandi Laboratories, Hospital La Católica and Hospital Cima. These are added to: LABIN laboratories, Hospital Clínica Bíblica, Laboratorio Páez, Laboratorios San José and Hospital Metropolitano, giving a total of eight private centers with the capacity to carry out this test.

Likewise, the San Juan de Dios, México, Nacional de Niños, and INCIENSA hospitals perform the COVID-19 test at a public level, to which the Clinical Laboratory and Blood Bank of the University of Costa Rica are added.

The Minister of Health took advantage of the conference space to indicate that from the Ministry of Health the validity of the operating health permits, authorization certificates, authorizations and licenses granted by the governing body was extended until September 30, in order to avoid the attendance of people to the offices and reduce the possible risks of contagion. At the same time, the hierarch urged all the institutions to act along these lines, extending the term or digitizing processes.

The Ministry of Public Security reported that during the sanitary vehicle restriction that started on Monday night at 10:00 p.m. left 154 parties for violating the provision of the Ministry of Health, being the day with the fewest infractions since the measure began. Additionally, another 277 fines were made for various cases and 3 drunk drivers were caught.
