As of this Wednesday, September 9, with the beginning of the controlled reopening phase, the use of a mask will be mandatory throughout the country when access to establishments with a health operating permit is required.

Likewise, it is indicated that the use of a mask or face shield may be used as a complement to the mandatory use of the mask as personal protective equipment.

This was published in Decree 42603-S in scope No. 236 to La Gaceta No. 224 of this Monday, September 7, signed by the President of the Republic, Carlos Alvarado, and the Minister of Health, Daniel Salas.

The Minister of Health took the opportunity to speak today at a press conference on the proper uses of the mask, insisted that they should completely cover the nose and mouth and that those with valves should not be used.

“The mask is a means that helps us to be in solidarity especially with others. If we all use masks correctly, the risk of transmission is considerably reduced; But if someone fails to use it in a closed area, they are violating that shield and the protection of the people who are in that area, ”added Salas.
