OSN will present its X Official Season Concert 2019

A total of 150 musicians and singers will perform a musical program consisting of works such as Thomas Tallis (Vaughan Williams), Symphony No. 35 (Mozart), Nänie Op.82 (Brahms), and Schiksalslied Op. 54 (Brahms), will be performed by the National Symphonic Choir (CSN) and the National Symphony Orchestra (OSN).

The X Official Season Concert 2019 will be this Friday, November 1st, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, November 3rd, at 10:30 a.m., at the National Theatre of Costa Rica.

Tickets for this concert are available on the website prices between 6,000 and 25,000 colones depending on the selected locality. They are also available at the theatre box office.

Students and citizens of gold who wish to attend the concert will be able to apply for a 40% discount when presenting their card at the theatre box office.

The program of this concert includes two works by the German composer Johannes Brahms written between 1868 and 1880. Both poems express the struggle of human beings on earth, one as a musical meditation on the mystery of destiny and another as a funeral song dedicated to death and the Gods of Olympus, commented the director of the CSN, Marcela Lizano.

The staging is an accessible show for deaf people and listeners to share together the magic of a theatrical show, the play will be presented on Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 17 November 2019, at, at Teatro Auditorio Casa Nega. This project was one of the winners of the Proartes 2019 fund of the Melico Salazar Popular Theatre and is supported by the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (CONAPDIS), Sordos con vos and the International Puppet Union (UNIMA Costa Rica).

Play will reflect family violence and suicide from a futuristic scenario

Alejandro is an 18-year-old boy who was hospitalized three months ago for a failed suicide attempt. Since his coma and through his interaction with the other characters in the play, he recounts many of the family situations he has lived since he was a child, through which the public can understand the reasons that led him to make this decision.

This is the play that will be presented by the Vargas Calvo Theatre entitled “La balada de los molluscos,” under the direction of Gladys Alzate, winner of the Drama Contest 2019, written by Bryan Vindas, with performances by Javier Montenegro, Ana Ulate, Miriam Calderón, María Luisa Garita and Uri Izrael.

The staging will take place until December 1, from Friday to Saturday, at 8 p.m. and on Sundays at 5 p.m., at the Vargas Calvo Theatre. The general entrance fee is 8,000 colones; students and elderly persons with a card, 5,200 colones. This discount only applies at the theatre ticket office and via the call centre.
