As of May 16, 10 new cases of COVID-19 are registered, for a total of 853 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 87 years. There are 387 women and 466 men, of whom 717 are Costa Rican and 136 foreigners.
Likewise, five new cases of transporters were registered who were not authorized to enter Costa Rica because they had a positive result in the COVID-19 test, reaching a total of 36 truckers.
Positive cases are recorded in 69 cantons. By age we have: 758 adults, 43 older adults and 52 minors. There are 551 people recovered in 59 cantons, with an age range of one to 86 years, of whom 269 are women and 282 are men, by age we have: 495 adults, 29 older adults and 27 minors.
At this time 12,915 people have been discarded.
There are 10 regrettable deaths, one woman and nine men with an age range of 45 to 87 years. 17 people are hospitalized, four of them are in intensive care with an age range of 53 to 75 years.
To date, a total of 19,401 samples have been processed.
