As of May 11, 9 new cases of COVID-19 are registered, for a total of 801 confirmed cases, with an age range of one to 87 years. There are 373 women and 428 men, of whom 688 are Costa Rican and 113 foreigners.
Positive cases are counted in 68 cantons. By age we have: 718 adults, 41 older adults and 42 minors.
In addition, there are nine carriers that were not authorized to enter Costa Rica because they had a positive result in the COVID-19 test. There are 517 people recovered in 59 cantons, with an age range of one to 86 years, of which 251 are women and 266 are men, by age we have: 464 adults, 27 older adults and 26 minors. Abangares joins the cantons with recovered cases.
At this time, 11,259 people have been discarded. Seven regrettable deaths are recorded, all men with an age range of 45 to 87 years.
21 people are hospitalized, six of them are in intensive care with an age range of 53 to 75 years.
To date, a total of 17,299 samples have been processed.
The Minister of Health, Daniel Salas also clarified that disinfection tunnels are not allowed, given the health risk they represent. The Ministry of Health will follow up on the disabling of existing ones.
