As of June 8, 24 new cases of COVID-19 are registered, for a total of 1,342 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 89 years. There are 628 women and 714 men, of which 1041 are Costa Rican and 301 foreigners.
Positive cases are counted in 74 cantons. By age we have: 1137 adults, 66 older adults and 139 minors.
There are 712 people recovered in 66 cantons. The recovered cases have an age range of zero to 86 years, of which 343 are women and 369 are men, by age we have: 641 adults, 33 older adults and 38 minors.
There are 10 regrettable deaths, one woman and nine men with an age range of 45 to 87 years. 19 people are hospitalized, five of them are in intensive care with an age range of 57 to 72 years.
At this time, 20,434 people have been discarded and a total of 29,622 samples have been processed.
In addition, the Minister of Health Daniel Salas reported that in May, through the surveillance of priority risk areas, 4,978 tests were carried out, of which 27 were positive, distributed in the following cantons:
