Covid status. July 21 +277 New cases

As of July 21, the country registers 277 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 11,811 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 99 years. There are 5,194 women and 6,617 men, of whom 8,400 are Costa Rican and 3,411 are foreigners.

Positive cases are counted in 81 cantons. By age we have: 9615 adults, 646 older adults and 1442 minors, 108 are under investigation.

There are 3,194 people recovered in 79 cantons. The recovered cases have an age range of zero to 96 years, of which 1397 are women and 1797 are men, by age we have: 2504 adults, 140 older adults, 486 minors and 64 are under investigation.

272 people are hospitalized, 49 of them in intensive care with an age range of 35 to 83 years.

Two deaths are added, reaching 68 in total, of which 26 are women and 42 men, with an age range of 23 to 94 years.

  •  61-year-old man, Costa Rican, a resident of San José. He was admitted to the Calderón Guardia Hospital, being diagnosed by COVID-19 on July 14. He had asthma and had a history of smoking.
  • 76-year-old man, a foreigner, a resident of San José. He was admitted to the Calderón Guardia Hospital, being diagnosed by COVID-19 on July 15. He suffered from high blood pressure and diabetes.
