The country today accounts for the largest increase in COVID-19 cases, with 649 new positives. This accumulated number of cases was projected with compliance with measures between July 20 and 21, and without compliance between July 13 and 14, which shows an exponential acceleration. This situation merits the advancement of closure measures that will be analyzed at a meeting of leaders this evening and duly communicated to the public.
As of July 9, the country registers a total of 6,485 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 96 years. There are 2769 women and 3716 men, of whom 4597 are Costa Rican and 1888 are foreigners.
Positive cases are recorded in 79 cantons. By age we have: 5214 adults, 306 older adults and 873 minors, 92 are under investigation.
There are 2,023 people recovered in 79 cantons. The recovered cases have an age range of zero to 94 years, of which 908 are women and 1115 are men, by age we have: 1585 adults, 85 older adults, 299 minors and 54 are under investigation.
There are 25 regrettable deaths, 10 women and 15 men with an age range of 26 to 92 years.
120 people are hospitalized, 14 of them in intensive care with an age range of 43 to 82 years.
