As of August 15, the country registers 806 new cases of COVID-19, of which 207 are by epidemiological link and 599 by laboratory, for a total of 27,737 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 100 years. There are 12,800 women and 14,937 men, of whom 20,586 are Costa Rican and 7,151 are foreigners.
Positive cases are counted in 82 cantons. By age we have: 23,147 adults, 1,759 older adults and 2,660 minors, 171 are under investigation.
9010 recovered persons are registered in 80 cantons. The recovered cases have an age range from zero to 96 years, of which 4047 are women and 4963 are men, by age we have: 7350 adults, 409 older adults, 1175 minors and 76 are under investigation.
369 people are hospitalized, 104 of them in intensive care with an age range of zero to 85 years.
For today 10 unfortunate deaths are reported: four men, and six women, with an age range of 21 to 87 years, registering the death of the youngest person related to COVID-19, it is a woman of 21 years, Costa Rican, neighbor of Guanacaste. She was hospitalized at Hospital México and was diagnosed on July 31. As a condition, she presented a severe medullary aplasia, which is the disappearance of the cells responsible for the production of blood in the bone marrow
In total, there are 291 deaths related to COVID-19: 108 women and 183 men, with an age range of 21 to 100 years.
