The Minister of Health, Daniel Salas reported that the Costa Rican Social Security Fund sent the Ministry today the first group of people diagnosed with COVID-19 by nexus. It is about 515 people who have been diagnosed by nexus since August 2. From today this data will be updated daily.
The surveillance guidelines of the COVID-19 disease of the Ministry of Health were updated on July 24 in order to instruct the confirmation of positive COVID-19 patients by nexus with a person confirmed by PCR test, when they live in the same space physical and manifest symptoms (without requiring the diagnostic test).
In the case of COVID-19 positives per laboratory today, 496 are registered, for a global total of 22,081 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 100 years. There are 10,112 women and 11,969 men, of whom 16,204 are Costa Rican and 5,877 are foreigners.
Positive cases are counted in 81 cantons. By age we have: 18,289 adults, 1405 older adults and 2263 minors, 124 are under investigation.
7,266 recovered people are registered in 80 cantons. The recovered cases have an age range from zero to 96 years, of which 3203 are women and 4063 are men, by age we have: 5915 adults, 329 older adults, 958 minors and 64 are under investigation.
373 people are hospitalized, 89 of them in intensive care with an age range of 24 to 87 years.
For today 18 regrettable deaths are reported: 10 men, and eight women, with an age range of 27 to 91 years, from San José, Alajuela, Heredia, Puntarenas and Limón.
In total, there are 218 deaths related to COVID-19: 82 women and 136 men, with an age range of 23 to 99 years.
