As of May 5, 13 new cases of COVID-19 are registered, for a total of 755 confirmed cases, with an age range of one to 87 years. There are 352 women and 403 men, of whom 664 are Costa Rican and 91 foreigners.
12 of these new cases are registered in the Central Regional Apprehension Center (CARC) of the General Directorate of Migration and Aliens, they are contacts of the two apprehended people who were positive on May 2. The apprehension center is in isolation by sanitary order, positive people will remain there, with strict monitoring by the Health authorities.
Positive cases are counted in 63 cantons. By age we have: 677 adults, 38 older adults and 40 minors.
There are 413 people recovered in 56 cantons, with an age range of one to 86 years, of whom 202 are women and 211 are men, by age we have: 370 adults, 22 older adults and 21 minors. Esparza and Atenas join the list of cantons with recovered people.
At this time, 9,209 people have been discarded.
There are six regrettable deaths, all men with an age range of 45 to 87 years.
17 people are hospitalized, five of them are in intensive care with an age range of 57 to 75 years.
To date, a total of 14,121 samples have been processed.
