The Day of Love and Friendship is the ideal opportunity to enjoy the music of the Concert Bands of the Ministry of Culture and Youth (MCJ), which this year will offer their musical interpretations mainly from the virtual world.

The Concert Bands are part of the Directorate of Bands, a programme of the MCJ with more than 175 years of musical experience.

The work of these groups allows the Costa Rican musical heritage to be expanded through the composition of new works, while offering concerts of high technical and artistic value to the Costa Rican community.

Precisely, in times of social distancing, the work of the Concert Bands does not stop, and on this occasion, from the virtual world, they come to offer cultural presentations that allow the public access to quality cultural services.

“The Concert Bands continue their historic work to remind all families, inhabitants of the country, that we remain close to the entire population to strengthen the bonds of friendship and love through music. Aware that our context makes us a vital call to cultivate and privilege empathy and hope, the Concert Bands will not let go of their baton and instruments to remember what is fundamental in life, preparing a special musical programme with affection for all,” said Ana Victoria Carboni, Director of the Bands.
