This afternoon the eighth death of a COVID-19 patient was recorded at the San Juan de Dios Hospital. This is a 75-year-old man from Costa Rica, a resident of Alajuela.
The deceased, in addition to age as a risk factor for COVID-19, suffered from high blood pressure and was anticoagulated by cardiac surgery 17 years ago.
He was diagnosed on April 8, hospitalized from that date in CENARE and transferred to intensive care at the San Juan Hospital on April 14. Since May 7, the Covid19 test had been negative, but it was unable to overcome the complications that the disease meant.
This death is in addition to the already registered of seven people, all men, with an age range of 45 to 87 years.
