With resources from the housing bond for ȼ3,328.2 million, the Housing Mortgage Bank (BANHVI) financed the construction of “Llanuras de Canaán”, a residential complex with 174 homes, located in the center of Pocora, Guácimo, Limón.
This Friday, before Coopenae R.L. -the authorized financial entity-, the first 52 families formalized their operations and the notarial documentation that accredits them as owners, receiving the keys to their new homes.
The residential complex solves the housing problem for families in dire need, people with disabilities, the elderly, and especially family groups headed by female heads of household, who represent 72% of the beneficiaries (126 families).
“I was so nervous that I didn’t even know how to turn the key of emotion,” said Edison Guerrero, who along with his young wife Doreis Torres was the first family to formalize and sign the deeds.
“Today I can already say that this house is mine,” Torres said, thanking God and the housing authorities for having made it possible.
The Joint Residential Project Llanuras de Canaán -located 800 meters north of the CCSS Clinic in Pocora- was developed by the company Consultoría Mar Azul and Coopenae was in charge of processing the applications for Family Housing Bonus, presenting the project for its approval to BANHVI, as well as the administration of resources and supervision of the quality of construction works.
Dagoberto Hidalgo, general manager of Banco Hipotecario, highlighted the work of the institution, which acquires special relevance in the crisis we are experiencing due to the pandemic.
“Our investment generates employment and actively contributes to reactivate the Costa Rican economy. Hence its importance in this period of national crisis due to the COVID19 emergency. The resources of the Housing Bonus constitute investment in social infrastructure, which generates a higher level of production; growth of economic activity and creates new jobs ”, he pointed out.
