The civil servants of the institutions of the Executive Power will work regularly until December 24, 2020.

This is established by the President of the Republic, Carlos Alvarado Quesada, and the ministers of National Planning and Economic Policy, Pilar Garrido and of Labor and Social Security Geannina Dinarte Romero, through an executive directive that will take effect once it is published. in the Official Gazette the Gazette.

In this way, public servants are granted vacations on December 24, 28, 29, 30 and 31, 2020. This means that the institutions will open their doors regularly on Monday, January 4, 2021 .

Among the reasons why these days are granted to working people is that this closure represents a significant saving for the Government in expenses such as electricity, telecommunications, water, fuel consumption, among others.

Likewise, many public servants have completed their vacation periods, so it is appropriate to avoid excessive accumulation of these labor rights and at the same time contribute to the recovery of the tourism sector and the economy.

The guideline establishes that “all those public servants that are required by the Municipal Emergency Committees, must provide the necessary collaboration according to what is arranged by the National Commission of Emergencies and Risk Prevention for the attention of the national state of emergency caused by the COVID-19 “.

On the other hand, in the case of the servers of the Ministry of Public Education, the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, the National Registry, police forces and emergency care institutions, vacations will be defined by their hierarch.
