As of July 22, the country registers 550 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 12,361 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 99 years. There are 5,471 women and 6,890 men, of whom 8,812 are Costa Rican and 3,549 are foreigners.
Positive cases are counted in 81 cantons. By age we have: 10 066 adults, 690 older adults and 1496 minors, 109 are under investigation.
There are 3,322 people recovered in 79 cantons. The recovered cases have an age range of zero to 96 years, of which 1462 are women and 1860 are men, by age we have: 2611 adults, 143 older adults, 504 minors and 64 are under investigation.
285 people are hospitalized, 50 of them in intensive care with an age range of 26 to 83 years.
Three deaths are added, reaching 71 in total, of which 27 are women and 44 men, with an age range of 23 to 94 years.

- 45-year-old Costa Rican woman from San José. She was admitted to the San Juan de Dios Hospital, being diagnosed on July 15. She was overweight, and had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
- 84-year-old man, Costa Rican, resident of Alajuela. He was admitted to CEACO, being diagnosed on July 15. In addition to age as a risk factor, he was an ex-tobacco user.
- 64-year-old man, Costa Rican, resident of Heredia. He was admitted to CEACO, being diagnosed on July 9. He suffered from high blood pressure.
