As of July 5, 375 new cases of COVID-19 are registered, for a total of 4,996 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 96 years. There are 2,116 women and 2,880 men, of whom 3,543 are Costa Rican and 1,453 are foreigners.
Positive cases are recorded in 79 cantons. By age we have: 3946 adults, 233 older adults and 730 minors, 87 are under investigation.
1745 recovered persons are registered in 75 cantons. The recovered cases have an age range of zero to 94 years, of which 792 are women and 953 are men, by age we have: 1,374 adults, 76 older adults, 246 minors and 49 are under investigation.
There are 19 regrettable deaths, nine women and 10 men with an age range of 26 to 89 years.
77 people are hospitalized, 10 of them in intensive care with an age range of 40 to 76 years.
The five most affected cantons in epidemiological week 27 that ended yesterday are: San José, Desamparados, Alajuelita, Alajuela and Heredia, together they group half of the total cases registered that week.
In the last two weeks, 50% of the total accumulated COVID-19 cases have been registered.
