The Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS), consistent with the measures issued by the Ministry of Health aimed at reducing COVID-19 infections, will maintain the advance payment of pensions for both IVM beneficiaries and for the month of May. the Non-Contributory Regime (RNC).
Dr. Roberto Cervantes Barrantes, general manager of the CCSS, explained that the measure seeks to give pensioners more time to organize together with their relatives or trusted people to carry out the withdrawal and use of resources, so that they can follow the recommendations. health regulations and avoid exposing yourself to the virus that causes COVID-19.
As part of the strategy, the authorities will separate the RNC pension payment dates from the IVM Insurance payment dates.
In this way, the payment to the beneficiaries of the Non-Contributory Regime will be made next Tuesday, May 26, 2020, taking into account that most of them are older adults in situations of poverty and vulnerability.
As of Thursday, May 28, 2020, payment will be deposited to IVM pensioners.
IVM insurance currently has 285,000 pensioners. This represents a monthly outlay of 78 billion colones, while the RNC has 127,000 pensioners for a total of 11.5 billion colones per month.
