The Minister of Health, Daniel Salas, reported that as of April 16, 642 cases confirmed by COVID-19 were registered, with an age range of one to 87 years. There are 308 women and 334 men, of whom 591 are Costa Rican and 51 foreigners.
Positive cases are registered in 59 cantons of the seven provinces. By age we have: 583 adults, 31 older adults and 28 minors.
At this time 6,709 people have been discarded, 74 people are registered as recovered, which belong to 29 cantons of the seven provinces, being Alajuela the canton that reports the most recovered cases for a total of 17 people.
There are four regrettable deaths, two 87-year-old men, a 45-year-old man and an 84-year-old man.
16 people are hospitalized, 11 of them are in intensive care with an age range of 35 to 75 years.
To date, a total of 9396 samples have been processed.
