In less than 24 hours, 48,808 people successfully sent the electronic form for the Bono Proteger application, which seeks to be an economic aid for people affected by labor due to COVID-19. These requests will be answered between Monday and Tuesday of next week.

After being announced by the President of the Republic, Carlos Alvarado Quesada, at the regular press conference to report the country’s status due to the Coronavirus emergency, the site protect.go.cr received a total of 1,726,953 visits.

Of the total visits, 54% were men and 46% women. Income was made 87% via cell phone, 12% via computer and 1% via tablet.

The Minister of Labor and Social Security, Geannina Dinarte Romero, highlighted that “since the launch of the website we had a really strong income from people who wanted to fill out the form to opt for the Protect Bonus. At this time we have more than 48 thousand requests that are being analyzed by the system and the work team and will be notified in the next few hours. ”

“Yesterday we had a problem with the income of people due to the high traffic that the site had, but thanks to the commitment of the companies and institutions involved in the tool, today we have solved the issue of people’s access, that is, income and data collection works regularly, “he added.
