Edit** This afternoon the death of the third positive patient for COVID-19 died at the Hospital San Juan de Dios. It is a 45-year-old man, Costa Rican, a neighbor of San José.
The man, who had no risk factors, acquired the virus on a trip to the United States.
The deceased was hospitalized 10 days ago in the Intensive Care Unit.
This Wednesday, April 8, it registers 502 cases confirmed by COVID-19, with an age range of one to 87 years. There are 243 women and 259 men, of whom 468 are Costa Rican and 34 foreigners.
Positive cases are registered in 56 cantons of the seven provinces. By age we have: 455 adults, 29 older adults and 18 minors.
At this moment 5533 people have been discarded, 29 people are registered as recovered and two unfortunate deaths are recorded. In total there are 23 people hospitalized of which 15 of them are in intensive care with an age range of 35 to 85 years.
