The Board of Port Administration and Economic Development of the Atlantic Slope (JAPDEVA) informs that according to the national emergency decree and the instructions of the Government of the Republic to address the situation of COVID-19, the arrival is suspended in its entirety cruise ship with passengers to the Hernán Garrón Salazar Terminal.
The suspension applies from this Tuesday to April 12, 2020 in the first instance, remaining to be defined according to the evolution that occurs, the remaining group in May.
In total, the arrival of 14 ships is canceled, some of them had already been suspended by the same shipping companies.
The measures ruled suspend the arrival of cruise ships with passengers and the entry of crews remains enabled as long as they are approved according to the health protocols implemented by the competent authorities.
“We will take all measures in accordance as instructed yesterday by the authorities of the Government of the Republic, and the protocols implemented so far with our officials will continue to be strengthened,” explained Andrea Centeno Rodríguez, Executive President.
He added that “we are communicating the decision and measures to all parties involved in cruise activity at the Terminal. We are aware that there will be an economic impact for both JAPDEVA and the province with this suspension, more should be understood that it is under the principle of safeguarding public health as a priority. We hope to be able to face it in the best way ».
JAPDEVA informed that the care services for cargo ships will continue to be provided.
