The Ministry of Culture and Youth and the Center for Artistic and Cultural Production, announce that the National Festival of Arts 2020 (FNA2020), will be suspended in response to the health situation in the country and in response to Executive Decree No. 42221- S, dictated by the Government of the Republic and the Ministry of Health and by virtue of which said Festival was included in the list of suspended activities, described in the Temporary Administrative Measures for the attention of activities of mass concentration due to the health alert by COVID-19 (Version 4 of March 13, 2020).
“From the Ministry of Culture and Youth we responsibly join the fight to minimize the outbreaks of contagion of COVID-19, which is why we immediately accepted the measure to suspend the National Festival of Arts (FNA2020), with in order to guarantee the physical safety of each of the Costa Ricans, ”said Mrs. Sylvie Durán Salvatierra, minister of this portfolio.
The National Arts Festival would take place from April 17 to 26 in the canton of Barva, Heredia. From the production, it will act in a responsible and articulated way with each of the counterparts and will continue working on the organization of the activity from the different administrative, production and planning scenarios that involve the realization of the event, in order to run the festival as soon as possible. the corresponding authorization is sent.
Ada Acuña Castro, director of the Center for Artistic and Cultural Production stated: “From the Center for Artistic and Cultural Production we are already ready for the FNA2020 and we have worked hard to provide the Barva community and the general public with a great festival quality, guaranteeing not only an event of artistic excellence, but also of high safety standards, for this reason we join the measures of the Government and the Ministry of Health to guarantee the protection of the attending public ”.
The Artistic and Cultural Production Center will continue to implement the necessary regulations and protocols in each of its events.
