The President of the Republic Carlos Alvarado and the Minister of Health, Daniel Salas today announced new preventive measures before the COVID-19, in this line the preventive closings to educational centers at risk were instructed, the reduction in 50% of the approved capacity of public meeting spaces and suspension of trips abroad for public employees.

In those educational centers where risk factors are detected, their closure will be instructed by health order of at least 14 business days, with the possibility of extending them. “This measure seeks to mitigate the peak of the contagion curve, while minimizing the social and economic impact of the emergency,” said Minister Salas. He went on to say that meetings or coexistence between different educational centers are also prohibited.

Minister Salas thanked the joint work that is being carried out with the private sector, in this line stressed that the messages of the Ministry of Health will be present from today in bus units thanks to the support of the Chamber of Transporters, and on screens on the roads josefinas public thanks to the Municipality of San José.

The data records 23 confirmed cases with an age range of 10 to 73 years.
