Urban, contemporary and acrobatic international and national dance shows aimed at the whole family, a photographic exhibition that will allow the visitor to observe a fresh version of Costa Rica through the eyes of 22 women and a work that will make the public reflect on issues as sensitive as power, politics and violence against women, it is the cultural agenda that the Ministry of Culture and Youth will offer this weekend.

Show aimed at the family will include the participation of international companies such as: Aina Lanas-Contemporary Dance-Urban Company, African Dance (Spain), Collectif Sola´s (France-Costa Rica), Alice & Alex – Acrobalance (Ukraine-Costa Rica ), in addition to the national group the Aerodynamic-Acrobalance Duo and the Costa Rican artist Jennifer Lobo, who will show her contortion exhibition, awaits the Costa Rican family this Saturday, March 7, starting at 7 pm, in the auditorium of Parque La Libertad, located in Fatima de Desamparados.
“En Ruta a Festival Cultivando La Paz”, is a preamble of the “Festival of Performing Arts”, which will take place from July 6 to 12, in La Libertad Park.

77 photographs of 22 photographers present women in their diverse roles and social environments
Within the framework of the International Women’s Day, the José Figueres Ferrer Cultural and Historical Center (CCHJFF) will inaugurate the graphic exhibition, “Costa Rica with women’s eyes”, which is accompanied by an editorial publication.
The exhibition is shown in print and digital format and will be open to the public from this Saturday, March 7 and until the 21st of this month, from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the CCHJFF Gallery.
“The exhibition, composed of 77 photographs and the editorial project, is a fresh version of our country in the eyes of 22 women who, in the face of various sensations, contexts and realities, tell us about themselves. In line with the sustainable development agenda, these perspectives allow us to measure part of the contributions and challenges of women in a multicultural and multiethnic society, and for those who require greater equity, necessary action for the construction of peace, ”said Hugo Pineda, director of the CCHJFF.

This staging deals with a bit of humor different situations that the characters live, the fragility of life and, at the same time, calls to think and place themselves in the role of the other.
“To dream that we are not fleeing”, by Ana Francis Mor, directed by Natalia Regidor and with performances by Gabriela Alfaro, Sylvia Sossa and Dennis Quirós, this weekend is presented at the Vargas Calvo Theater, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays, At 8 pm and on Sundays, at 5 p.m.
“In this work we see the work that the queen has to flee, to be safe because her life is in danger; Next to her goes her faithful maid, she has to make the decision to accompany her. We are portrayed a little by the position of these people who have no choice because their life is equally in danger when it is another who decides and is a power, an invisible hand, ”said Sylvia Sossa, producer and actress.

International Festival of Storytellers “Alajuela City Word” 2020
