Poetry acquires a special role annually within the framework of National Poetry Day, when the Poems Factory makes its appearance in the surroundings of the Alajuela Park and the Juan Santamaría Cultural Historical Museum.

“Every year since 2013, the Museum has been developing in January, close to the birth of Jorge Debravo, the Poem Factory that this year we made in January and now on March 7 will be held on a second chance, to include it in of the activities of the XV International Festival of Storytellers, this because poetry is nothing more than the art of the word being able to improvise a poem or be able to tell a story spontaneously and they are two sides of the same coin, poems are Verses that leave the soul and elevate the human being, make it a better person and contribute to create a better society, this time this second edition translates into taking advantage of this international framework with the presence of international stories that will enrich and strengthen the Factory of Poems, ”said María Elena Masís, director of the Juan Santamaría Cultural Historical Museum.
The dynamics of the activity begins in the Central Park of Alajuela, when the passers-by approach the invited poets and poets, to request the writing (on the site) of a poem about a poem inspired by a particular theme, feeling or to be loved.
This new edition of the “Factory of Poems” is organized as a celebration of the aforementioned decree of the Municipal Council of Alajuela and, in addition, coincides with the development of the “XV International Festival of Storytellers”: Alajuela Ciudad Palabra, which will be held in the same city, from March 5 to March 14. Among the national poets invited to the # FábricaDePoemasII2020, the participation of: José Alfredo Ulloa, José María Zonta, Ani Brenes, David Monge, Gabriel Ulloa, Sarita Marchena, Marybelle Obando, Emilio Jiménez, among others. In addition, there will be the participation of international guests: Pedro Mario López (Cuba), Marconio Vásquez (Mexico), Liliana Cinetto (Argentina) and Ernesto Rodríguez Abad (Spain).
The activity is free, it will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2020, starting at 3 p.m., and then at 4 p.m. The event will be closed at the “Francisca Carrasco Jiménez” Plaza of the MHCJS, with a brief poetry recital that involves the participation of foreign guests, who are also part of the agenda of the XV FICU, 2020.
