As of March 24, 177 positive cases for COVID-19 are registered, with an age range between 2 to 87 years. There are 74 women and 103 men, of whom 159 are Costa Rican and 18 are foreigners.
Positive cases are registered in 33 cantons of seven provinces. By age there are: 154 adults, 16 older adults and 7 minors, of which six people are hospitalized.
1,619 people have been discarded, 2 have been discharged, and two regrettable deaths are recorded, two Costa Rican men, both 87 years old.
The insistent call of the Minister of Health, Daniel Salas is for older adults: “do not leave home or receive visitors.” The hierarch emphasized the responsibility that we all have to protect this vulnerable population.
